Our Physical and Spiritual Exercise classes

Physical exercise is generally grouped into three types, depending on the overall effect they produce, on our retreats we encourage the practice of all of them.

 

  • Flexibility exercises are part of our Taichi, Qigong and Yoga classes which practiced at a slow and gentle rhythm focusing on breathing and internal energy circulation to improve the range of motion of muscles and joints, increase vitality and relaxation.

 

  • Aerobic exercises, such as hiking, kayaking, rock climbing and swimming (all available in our retreats) focus on increasing cardiovascular endurance.

 

  • Anaerobic exercises are included into our Fitness classes where guests practice resistance training, functional training, sprinting and high-intensity interval training increasing short-term muscle strength.

Meditation classes

We will facilitate two meditation sessions daily introducing you to different meditation, breathing and visualization techniques.

 

Theory Class

By having a better understanding of Macrobiotics basic pillars, through practical teaching and application of its principles you can generate significant improvements in your health. The physical body depends of the good quality and quantity of the food we consume as well as our breathing and our attitude to how we eat and chew. The use of a natural diet will make you feel that your health and life quality become more energetic (energized), active, intuitive, happy and in harmony with Nature, even in the scenario of our complex world.

Macrobiotic Cooking Class

During the week there will be a healthy cooking class based on Macrobiotics with simple and practical tips of how to prepare your own meals.

 

Home Remedies Class

During this class you will learn about various types of home remedies for common ailments (ginger compresses, natural poultices, natural plasters, Broths, beverages and teas, etc). Going by the words of Hippocrates:“Let food be thy medicine, and medicine thy food.”, we will also look at how you can heal yourself with various types of foods, empowering you to become your own doctor.
